Cherry Crest Elementary PTSA Read-a-Thon!


Ready, Set…Read!  The Read-a-thon is the first major Cherry Crest PTSA fundraiser of the 2020-21 school year. It is a fun school-wide event that encourages students to use the reading skills they develop in the classroom in a way that helps to raise funds to support important PTSA-sponsored programs like Curriculum Enhancement and General School Assistants. GSAs provide extra support in the (virtual) classroom!


GSAs have been helping out with Teams lessons, running many of the small-group learning sessions, and helping our teachers with a variety of classroom content management, grading and other administrative tasks to help our virtual classes run smoothly. GSAs are a crucial element in making Cherry Crest not only an exceptional learning environment, but an exceptional community as well.

Students gather sponsors to pledge money, read from November 25th – November 30th (over the Thanksgiving break), and earn prizes.  More information about Read-a-thon will be shared over the next few weeks.
